Soren is 17 Weeks; Happy Valentine's Day

Suffice it to say that we spent our Valentine's Day at home, but we still decided to celebrate with a little flowers and chocolate.

This skillet cookie did not taste as good as it looked, but I think I might try it one more time because cookie pies are so yummy!

Soren had his 4 month check up this week (a little early).  He got his first dTap shot, which was a little tougher because of the tetanus. He got a pretty good lump from it.

He weighed 15lbs 14oz, which puts him between 70th and 75th percentile.  His height was a little bit of a mystery, measuring at 25".  Both we and the doctor think that there have been some inconsistencies in the measurement technique, resulting in what looks like very little growth.  I guess it's tough to stretch babies out, especially the same way every time and by different people.

We also talked about Soren's reflux and were told to try to wean him off the Prevacid to see how he did. Our pediatrician felt that this was an important first step towards introducing solids. Normally, I wouldn't have thought of introducing solids yet, but Soren already shows quite an interest in our eating and in food, so I would consider offering him solids prior to 6 months. Unfortunately, Soren did not handle missing a dose of medicine so well, so we will revisit this issue again next month. Soren also displayed his "moves" to the doctor. Unlike our female pediatrician with Eisley, our male pediatrician wasn't as phased by the Sondregger quick rollover. He used one hand to hold his hip and the other to use his stethoscope to listen to his heart. Soren either met or exceeded all of his other developmental milestones regarding movement, eye contact, etc. It's just his tummy that is not catching up!

Valentine's Day smiles! (17 weeks)
