38 Weeks

While it may look like I am more on the overdue side of things, I still have 2 weeks to go until my due date! But, trust me, I would be happy to go on the early side.  I wanted to give a quick update from my latest appointment on Monday. 

At 38 weeks, I am making a little progress: 1cm dilated, 50% effaced.  The baby has not 'dropped' or 'engaged' yet. In fact, when my OB was checking me, the baby demonstrated that he is rather mobile still, able to bounce around as he pleases. We also have some concerns about his position--being posterior (sunny side up)--but are being proactive about both.  I'm going to have to have a few words with this kid about making me do crazy hands and knees and squatting when all I want to do is just lie down and relax! And the sleep he's already taking from me isn't going unnoticed. But, my doula has assigned me with the sole assignment of staying incredibly positive about everything, so I am trying to be a good student!
