And joy comes in the morning

I honestly didn't think that I could get any good news at the doctor's office today.  Based on what I saw, I was certain that my doctor would only be able to tell me bad news. But that's why I'm not the doctor.  Sure, if I had gone to medical school, I would have probably known...because it seemed so simple when my doctor told me what looked like a bruise to us was, indeed, a bruise. Not some gnarly infection. Even when Stephan suggested it last night as a possibility, I thought he sounded crazy. Granted, the explanation definitely made make sense to me: Just as I tend to bruise when needles go into my arm to take blood or put in an IV, apparently the needle used to put in the numbing medicine managed to cause some damage while delivering the medicine.

My stitches have stretched out a little bit--and it sounded far worse when my OB said they had ruptured! But apparently, it's not enough to worry about. And she was actually pleased with the overall state of things. So, I left stunned and feeling rather blessed. I guess I should be able to expect good news, but you can probably imagine that I've been a little worn down by the twists and turns. Our OB also did a little fix on Soren's circumcision that had started to heal a little bit wrong. (It had adhered at a slightly wrong place, which was separated. Not nearly as painful, for me, as the original procedure!!)

While I still don't feel the greatest physically, I do feel better about things in general.  And...Grandma came back tonight! Woo-hoo! Please pray with us that by the time she (and my dad, who is coming next week) leaves that I will be well on my way to complete recovery! I'm also hoping to be able to get in a little more sleep...Soren's cooperation would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I should mention that his stuffy nose seems to be abating. Not sure if it is some sort of sickness or if it is related to his reflux. Either way, he has slept better again today, so this is also quite encouraging!
